Safety always takes precedence at NYCC

Safety is not only emphasized on site, safety is viewed as a culture that encompasses all company employees in order to promote and demonstrate best in class practices. NYC Constructors is continuously reviewing safety policies and procedures to maintain and improve workplace safety for all those who are involved.

Quality Assurance

At NYC Constructors, a project must meet the Company and client’s high standards of both safety and quality. NYC Constructors approaches Quality Assurance (QA) as a comprehensive process that begins with design reviews and continues through project closeout. QA is achieved through committed management specifications, procedures, project controls, contract administration and inspection. Each NYC Constructors employee, subcontractor, consultant and supplier is responsible for achieving quality in his/her work.

Safety Orientation

Along with the required General Contractor/ Contract Manager orientation, NYC Constructors also offers their own safety orientation. This orientation, provided to all new hires, includes the NYC Constructors’ policy on various safety topics and other pertinent safety information. NYC Constructors aims to provide their employees the best information, guidance, and tools in order to complete their tasks in the safest and most efficient manner.

Safety Innovations

Cocoon
Internal Core Platforms
Temporary Stairs

Cocoon

A sophisticated method of providing protection for the public and personnel working on and around the construction site. This invention was initially debuted at the One World Trade Center building, and has since been the preferred method for all steel high-rises in the
New York market. With its lightweight design and custom hydraulic system, this protection system seamlessly climbs the face of the tower as erection of steel progresses.

Internal Core Platforms

A primary method of protecting all workers within the parameters of the structure, both below the working floor and the ironworkers constructing the tower. With the NYC Code restricting Ironworkers from working on any steel that has shop applied nelson studs, this 2-story structure allows seamless access to erect steel without violating this code. Its lightweight design allows us to consolidate our equipment and tools in one spot while continuously jumping them onto the next, and current, working floors.

Temporary Stairs

NYC Constructors feels adamantly that stair towers are the best method to reduce risk for all workers who require access to a floor that is not serviced by hoist car. With this specific limitation in mind, NYC Constructors created a modular design stair tower. This tower can be used for 1 – 10 floors of coverage and it can be raised continuously to the leading floor of erection. This has proven itself successful in providing safe, efficient access for our workers.
