Field Engineer Job Description:

Overview:

NYC Constructors LLC, a long-standing premiere structural steel erector located in New York City, is currently searching for a Field Engineer. The team at NYCC has been and continues to be involved with projects that continue to shape the NYC skyline and daily life in NYC including the World Trade Center Towers 1, 3, and 4, Rockefeller University, and the new Midtown skyscraper, One Vanderbilt. Job Description:

The Field Engineer supports the construction management team and oversees a variety of project-based tasks in a fast-paced environment. The candidate must have strong technical and communication skills with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering. 2+ years of experience is preferred but not required. The position entails consulting with the Field Superintendent, Foremen and Project Manager on scheduling, work force reporting and cost control. Other tasks include overseeing the procurement and inspection of materials and equipment, as well as updating daily field, drawing, and customer specific reporting logs. The position is based in New York City with competitive wages and benefits.

Other Required Job Tasks:

  • Maintenance of logs and drawings which include field drawings, lost time notifications, field overtime log, and daily/monthly crane inspection checklist
  • Working with the Superintendent and Foremen to determine any issues with erecting steel and documenting the issue appropriately
  • Recommending fixes to any field issues to the Engineer of Record in a clear and concise manner to facilitate timely approval
  • Helping the Foreman and Project Managers identify and solve any conflicts with steel erection and/or crane activities. Coordinate with GC, surveyors, subcontractors and others to ensure project timeline is met
  • Steel delivery coordination
  • Attend weekly project meetings
  • Assisting with managing field budget and controlling hours and costs
  • Facilitating pricing of extra costs to present to Owner/Construction Manager
  • Track project activities and assign cost codes/force accounts to them
  • Facilitate coordination of crane activities such as lift plans, crane jumps, etc.
  • Comply, understand, and support corporate safety initiatives to ensure a safe work environment

Job Requirements

  • BA in Construction Management or Engineering
  • 1-2 years of constructions experience
  • Familiarity with structural drawings and construction technology

Senior FP&A Analyst

Reports to: VP of Finance

Responsibilities

The FP&A Analyst role will provide assistance to the Financial Planning & Analysis team to create forward-looking financial information and financial analysis used to support decision making for the company’s overall corporate and business portfolios. The position will have responsibility for actuals, forecast, and budget consolidation for both business units and cost centers within The Related Companies. This role requires significant interaction with senior level executives within the company, and reports into the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in creating monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages
  • Assist in compiling consolidated annual budgets (develop templates, assumptions, analyses and reports), forecasts (templates and set frequency and levels of detail), and performance management (development of key performance indicators, setting of target, and analysis/reporting)
  • Create monthly cash flow projections for cost centers and business platforms
  • Prepare actual versus budget variance analysis
  • Maintain relationships with internal and external customers
  • Assist in various ongoing ad-hoc activities within the Financial Planning & Analysis Team

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in Finance, Investment Banking, and/or Accounting; ideally some combination of all skillsets
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Highly intelligent with excellent analytical skills, with a larger focus on financial reporting and ability to convert raw data into financial analyses
  • Ideal candidate is a highly self-motivated person who thrives in a dynamic work environment and demonstrates a flexible and adaptable work style that responds quickly
  • Takes ownership for decisions and is accountable for actions regardless of the outcome
  • Superior organizational skills
  • A mature professional with excellent judgment and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with accounting systems and information tools such as SAGE, Vista™ by Viewpoint, AX, Planful, Power BI, Hyperion and database applications, a plus
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Advanced Degree, (e.g., CPA, CFA), a plus
