Banker Steel fabricated over 1,000 tons of structural steel and NYC Constructors installed the steel for the project. This eight year renovation project was part of a $2 billion renovation that reimagined the iconic hotel. With 375 hotel rooms and 372 new private residences, the property has been transformed while preserving the historic landmark.
The renovation of the iconic Waldorf Astoria New York represents one of the most complex historic restoration projects in the country- and we’re proud that Banker Steel and NYC Constructors played a critical role in bringing it forward.
Renovating a historic structure of this scale requires far more than simply replacing or adding steel. Every phase demanded close coordination with the construction manager, AECOM Tishman, to manage evolving design conditions, structural tie-ins to existing framing, and field-driven changes uncovered during demolition.

Just-in-time delivery was essential to minimize staging constraints, maintain schedule integrity, and ensure safe installation within limited laydown space in Midtown Manhattan.
